Beyond Radio delighted to support Alannafest festival in Morecambe

Beyond Bear at last year's Alannafest. The Beyond Radio team will be back there this year.

Beyond Radio is delighted to be once again supporting the annual Alannafest festival in Morecambe.

The family-friendly festival, raising money for Cancer Care, will be held at the Trimpell Club on Sunday August 25 from noon to 6pm.

There will be live music on the outdoor stage with the line-up including the ska band Ska Face, Jo Fry's tribute to Dolly Parton, Mark McKenna, Andy Creevy and Tom Woods. The event will be opened by the Batala samba drummers.

There will also be local dance performances, a magician, inflatables, children's rides, craft stalls, lucky dip, tombola, big prize raffle, candy floss, barista and desserts, hotdogs, burgers, crepes, doughnuts, face paints, sweet stall, snow cones, hair accessories, ice cream, novelty toys, childrens books, delicious cakes and much more.

Alannafest was set up in memory of mum-of-two Alanna Duffy (pictured below), who died of leukaemia in 2008, aged 26.

Alannafest is run by a dedicated team of Alanna's close family and friends who spend months of planning to keep the spirit of Alanna alive, whilst helping those that give people affected by cancer a lifeline during those darkest hours.

The event has grown from a small fundraising cricket match to a community festival raising thousands for the charity.

This year's line-up will be hosted by Beyond Radio's Phill Hayward with the Beyond Radio team, including Beyond Bear!

Both the lounge bar and the function room bar will be serving drinks this year with the additional outdoor beer marquee.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their camping chairs, tables, picnics and blankets so you can really settle in for the day and enjoy the entertainment on offer.

Tickets can be bought in advance via Skiddle from just £7 for a family of six, which all goes directly to Cancer Care.

Tickets will also be available on the door on the day but will always be subject to maximum capacity.

An after party will also be held in the Trimpell during the evening, with live music from Take That tribute act Take Off That from 7.30pm. Tickets available HERE.
