A day of family fun and live music in Morecambe supported by Beyond Radio has raised thousands of pounds for CancerCare.
Alannafest raised £3,875 for the cancer charity, following the event last Sunday at the Trimpell Club.
The event is organised each year by the family and friends of the late Alanna Duffy, who died of leukaemia in 2008 aged 26.
Alannafest is run by a dedicated team of Alanna's close family and friends who spend months of planning to keep the spirit of Alanna alive, whilst helping those that give people affected by cancer a lifeline during those darkest hours.
The event has grown from a small fundraising cricket match to a community festival raising thousands for the charity.
Alanna's sister Katie thanked everybody who supported this year's event, despite the inclement weather conditions, which meant some of the outdoor entertainment moving indoors.
Performers included Ska Face, Mark McKenna, Tom Woods and Andy Creevy, and Jo Fry as Dolly Parton. There was also a Take That tribute show ‘after party’.
Katie said: ‘’The public were so kind and patient, and thanks to all of our team who really did magnificent given the weather, the Trimpell team who went above and beyond to help, and all the stallholders who attended.
‘’Thanks to the incredible musicians and performers who rocked every minute of their time with us and kept everyone smiling, the bar staff, our sponsors and Jon Bird and his family for always being the most amazing people to work with.
‘’I just need to mention how good Take Off That were. If they're ever in town you really must see them.
‘’It wasn’t the Alannafest we are used to but it really was a great day despite the challenges. Love to all of you that came as the general public were the best lot yet!’’
Alannafest was hosted this year by Beyond Radio's Phill Hayward, with support from the Beyond Radio team.
