Police seized 23 bottles of nitrous oxide and a car after its occupants were spotted on CCTV inhaling 'laughing gas' from balloons.
The four occupants of the VW Golf were warned by police that the use and consumption of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a criminal offence.
The car was stopped at Forton services near Lancaster after being seen travelling on the M6 northbound at 12.03am on May 8, following a report to police on May 7.
No arrests were made.
Nitrous oxide is a colourless gas, also known as ‘laughing gas’. It can be misused for its psychoactive effects – or to ‘get a high’ – by inhalation.
