Morecambe was packed over the weekend as people enjoyed a host of live music and family entertainment.
The Morecambe Music Festival has been hailed as the best one yet, with hoards of revellers packing into 31 different venues from across the resort to enjoy music from a broad spectrum of genres.
Organiser Stuart Michaels reviews the event with Beyond Radio’s Greg Lambert:
Tim and Matt from Brittlestar Wine Bar said they were delighted with how the event went:
The Morecambe Music Festival has one last event, this evening (Monday July 11). The success of the event will be celebrated at The Brittlestar Wine Bar from 7pm, with the fantastic Robert Taylor performing.
The event is a chance for the landlords, ladies, staff, acts, bands, and security that have worked all weekend, but it’s also open to the general public.
Meanwhile, the prom was packed as the crowds enjoyed the Catch the Wind Kite Festival.
The event, staged by More Music, returned to Morecambe Promenade on Saturday and Sunday.
The free family-friendly festival featured some spectacular kite displays, a free programme of entertainment and live music, and environmentally-themed arts and crafts workshops.
On Saturday, The Kakatsitsi Master Drummers, traditional drummers, dancers and singers from the Ga tribe of Southern Ghana performed, while Sunday saw carnival artists The Cacophany Arkestra and their climate change-themed show “Insektageddon”.
