
The M6 near Lancaster was the epicentre of an earthquake to hit the area last night.
Seismic activity was recorded at Bailrigg, near to Lancaster University, at around 2:50am (April 16).
According to The British Geological Survey, the tremor measured 1.0 on the Richter Scale, at a depth of 3km down, with the co-ordinates showing the quake to be underneath the M6 motorway.
No damage has been reported.
