
A charity shop in a Lancaster shopping centre will close later this month.
The YMCA shop in St Nic's Arcades in Lancaster will shut on Saturday October 19.
The shop is currently having a closing down sale with wedding dresses priced at £30, clothes £1, furniture as priced, and everything else £1 or less incuding media which is 10 for £1.
A spokesperson for the YMCA said they were "saddened to be closing the local charity shop in Lancaster after years of service and support to the local community".
“The charity shop has played a significant role in our community, offering not only items at a significant saving but the money raised in stores go to YMCAs work in the local region and to its young people they serve,” said Kim Steadman, North West Retail Area Manager at YMCA.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has donated, shopped, and volunteered with us. Your generosity has made a meaningful impact on many lives.”
The YMCA ran a service for young people at its former home on the corner of Damside Street and New Road (near Lancaster Bus Station) from 2001 to 2023.

St Nic's Arcades was recently purchased by the Fraser Group, who also own House of Fraser and Sports Direct.
