Morecambe’s lifeboat crew responded to a call of people in trouble in the water near the Battery.
They received the shout at around 2:50pm on Thursday, to help three people struggling in the water.
The Inshore lifeboat was swiftly launched making to the area just after 3:10pm and started a search.
It became evident that the three people had managed to make their own way to safety.
With no one else in danger the lifeboat returned to station and made ready for the next shout.
The crew are now reminding everyone of the dangers of rising waters and incoming tides.
