A former solicitor's office in Morecambe town centre could be converted into flats.
A planning application has gone in to Lancaster City Council for a change of use and conversion of 45 Victoria Street, formerly the office of Birchall Blackburn, to four flats.
The five-storey property would be changed to three one-bedroom flats and one three-bedroom maisonette under the plans.
The proposals are also for "installation of replacement windows and infill panels to the rear, replacement front door, installation of new windows and formation of new lightwell to the front and installation of metal railings".
A report submitted with the plans said: "The existing property is a former solicitor’s office and that has been vacant for over a year without interest in retaining its use.
"The owner has received much interest regarding the potential new flats and has tenants lined up for each one.
"It has been demonstrated that the proposed development has minimal impact on the surrounding area whilst providing for housing need and making use of a vacant property, and therefore represents an appropriate redevelopment opportunity.
"It is therefore concluded that this application is worthy of support."
The applicant is Kate Knight of RWK Property Ltd.
The council will make a decision on whether to grant planning permission in due course.
The full application can be found at the Lancaster City Council website planning section, reference number 24/01106/FUL.
Birchall Blackburn Law moved to the first floor at 12 Victoria Street in Morecambe in 2023.
The solicitor's is now located above the Brew Me Sunshine cafe in the Galloway's Society for the Blind building (formerly The Visitor newspaper office).
