Plans have been revealed to change a former railway social club in Carnforth into a storage and distribution centre.
The former Railway Club on Warton Road has been derelict for years and would be partly demolished under the plans, which have been submitted to Lancaster City Council for permission.
The plans also feature an extension including a new roof and changes to windows and doors.
The London Midland Railway Clubs Association building, built in the mid-20th century, was sold at auction in June 2024 for £235,000.
The applicant for planning permission is a Mr Proctor.
The former Carnforth Junction signal box, a nearby listed building, will not be affected by the proposal.
"The building stands around 100 metres northeast of the Grade II listed Carnforth Junction signal box, which is the northernmost element of a group of eight listed railway buildings adjacent to Carnforth Station that date from the steam era," says a Heritage Statement submitted with the proposals.
"The Grade II designation of the Carnforth Junction signal box denotes it is a building of national importance for its special architectural and historic interest.
"The proposal site lies within allocated commercial land and within an area of commercial redevelopment. The building has been disused for some time.
"The proposal will have a neutral effect upon the setting of the listed building and conservation area, and thus will preserve their significance.
"In the wider picture, the proposal will return a large vacant site to active and sustainable use and thereby have a positive effect on the local economy. The application should therefore be given favourable consideration and awarded approval without delay."
Lancaster City Council will make a decision on planning permission in due course.
