Camper van owners will stage a public protest against attempts to ban overnight parking of motorhomes on Morecambe Promenade.
The protest event is being held at the Venus and Cupid sculpture on Marine Road East on Saturday April 12 from 11am.
Organiser Mark Leech said he believes that local councils are showing "discrimination and persecution" of camper van and motorhome owners by pushing for a ban.
This comes after Morecambe Town Council put £20,000 aside towards a hoped-for Traffic Regulation Order to stop motorhomes from parking overnight on the prom.
There have been numerous complaints from residents over the past few years about motorhomes and camper vans staying on the Promenade for months on end.
Some of the vehicles, they say, cause nuisance and pollution, and block the views across Morecambe Bay.
But Mr Leech said: "On April 12 the members of the camper van community are staging a protest against the ban.
"The community have asked the council where they got their reports from, have any impact assessment on local businesses been carried out and what number of local people voted for a ban in relation to those who voted against a ban.
"I may add that local residents have not even been told to fund the ban a rise will be added to their yearly Council tax."
Mr Leech has set up a Facebook page for the protest which says: "We make a visual presence in protest that we do not agree with the discrimination of camper van owners being banned from parking overnight by (an) ever increasing number of councils."

"It's a peaceful protest and gathering of like minded people."
On his YouTube channel Roads Home, where he posts videos about life as a motorhome owner, Mr Leech spoke to several businesses on Morecambe Promenade, who all said they'd had no correspondence from the council about the issue.
"As motorhome and camper van owners, we're being told by the local authorities that the reason for these no overnight parking vans is because of noise, rubbish, waste being dumped, and that camper vans are an eyesore and blocking the views," said Mr Leech in the video.
"I've set out to either prove or disprove what we're being told.
"If it's not persecution of motorhome owners, what is it? There seems to be no mention of commercial vehicles (parking on the Promenade).
"There are normally multiple lorries. Why no mention of the lorries and coaches? Why is it only the camper vans getting attention? What presents more of a blockage of views - a van or a commercial vehicle?
"I can only see it as persecution and discrimination of camper van owners."
Mr Leech told Beyond Radio: "My goal is to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors and camper vans are a large part of that activity.
"I have further emailed the council giving them notice of the protest and informing them any protest could be avoided if they open some form of correspondence with a view to answering some of the questions I've put to them.
"I feel a open public meeting should be held as I've found that the parking ban will also include all council car parks in the whole of Lancaster.
"As the bans are only intended for camper van and motorhomes and not the HGVs or coaches it's undoubtedly discrimination."
Morecambe Town Council said the £20,000 is to "lay down the gauntlet" to Lancaster City Council and Lancashire County Council, in the hope they will provide match funding towards traffic measures on the Prom.
Councillor Clark Kent, chair of the town council's finance and governance committee, said in February: "We as a town council need to be showing that we are serious about the camper van situation in the area.
"We want to make city and county council stand up and listen to us, and work with us on it.
"Other towns in the area have been successful in banning motorhomes and camper vans on the Promenade. Why should we be any different?"
Lancaster City Council debated the issue at a meeting in November 2024, when it was said that camper vans and motorhomes parking on Morecambe Promenade is the "biggest complaint" among residents with "anger about it everywhere",
A motion called for an outright ban on the vehicles from parking in council-run car parks.
Following a lengthy debate, councillors instead voted to 'consider' a ban in Morecambe, rather than immediately banning them.
The city council agreed to work with partner organisations, including Lancashire County Council, Morecambe Town Council and Lancashire Constabulary, to seek to enact a ban on overnight parking on Morecambe Promenade for camper vans and motorhomes, consider a ban for overnight parking across all Lancaster City Council car parks in Morecambe for camper vans and motorhomes, and establish a working group with partner organisations, to explore alternative locations which can be used by camper van and motorhome users within the district.
Lancashire County Council has responsbility for highways across Lancashire, and any change to traffic measures on the Promenade would need to go through them.
Motorhomes/campervans can currently park in specified Lancaster City Council car parks, but sleeping in these vehicles on council car parks is not allowed.
