Industrial action set to affect Lancaster train services over the Christmas period has been called off.
Avanti West Coast train managers were planning to strike on December 22, 23 and 29.
But the RMT union said a new offer with higher rest day working payments and other changes to working arrangements, has been made.
Train managers will vote on the offer in a referendum that finishes tomorrow (December 17).
The RMT had said it was "unacceptable" that train managers usually work a 41-hour week, and due to staff shortages can be asked to work on their days off.
Avanti runs services between London and Glasgow and Edinburgh, which travel through Lancaster railway station. The strike would have affected tens of thousands of passengers on the West Coast Main Line during the busy Christmas period.
Avanti West Coast said: "We're pleased that the RMT union has called off strike action. This means we can run our planned timetable and tickets are back on sale.
"As the strikes were called off before the timetable was changed, your original seat reservation will be valid on your booked train, so you can continue with your journey as planned."
