Strike action affecting trains at Lancaster on Sundays has been called off.
The RMT Union has called off all planned industrual action on Avanti West Coast services after a settlement in a rest day working dispute.
Train managers had been due to strike on every Sunday until May 25, causing disruption for passengers on the West Coast Main Line.
Avanti runs services between London and Glasgow and Edinburgh, which travel through Lancaster railway station.
An Avanti West Coast spokesperson said: "We’re pleased that the RMT has called off all its remaining strike action for Avanti West Coast on Sundays, previously due to run until 25 May 2025.
"On all these upcoming dates, we’ll now run our normal Sunday timetable and tickets are back on sale."
RMT said the agreement delivers significant improvements for train managers, including pay rates increasing to time plus a quarter, and time plus a half for Saturdays and Sundays. mnimum shift payment rising from six hours to seven and a half hours, a fairer 'Order of Call' process, ensuring train managers are prioritised for rest day and spare shifts before senior management is called upon, a commitment from Avanti West Coast to review the impact of these changes ahead of the December 2025 timetable and make further improvements if needed, and backdated enhanced rest day working payments from 10 February 2025.
"Our members have stood firm, taking significant industrial action, and have won a deal that delivers real improvements to pay, and working conditions," said Eddie Dempsey, general secretary of the RMT.
"This result shows through a strong industrial campaign and robust negotiation we can and do win improvements at work for our members."
