Lancaster and Morecambe boxing coach to work with Tommy Fury on high-profile Dubai show

Trainer Bob Howard and professional boxer Tommy Fury

A local boxing trainer will be working with reality TV star and pro fighter Tommy Fury on a glittering fight night in Dubai.

Bob Howard will be in Fury's corner when he faces Paul Bamba on Sunday night at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai, after being asked to join the Fury team.

The fight takes place on the undercard of an exhibition bout involving boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

Tommy's rival Jake Paul, himself a pro boxer and a YouTube celebrity, will also be in attendance in Dubai on Sunday amid talk of a possible fight between the two, so there will be a huge amount of international media attention on the United Arab Emirates show.

Tommy Fury shot to fame when he and his girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague came runner-up on the ITV2 reality TV series Love Island in 2019.

He is also the younger brother of Morecambe-based WBC Heavyweight Boxing Champion Tyson Fury.

Tommy often trains with 'The Gypsy King' at his gym at Morecambe Football Club and goes on training runs with him around the Lancaster and Morecambe district.
