Lancaster City and Morpeth Town cancelled each other out on Non League Day at Giant Axe.
The Northern Premier League contest had to wait ten minutes before the first chance, Fleetwood loanee Crispin McLean received the ball on the edge of the box but his shot was over the bar.
McLean was involved again on 23 minutes, his corner found another Fleetwood loanee in Conor Haughey. His header found Lewis Mansell and his effort went over the bar.
Headed chances then came again for Mansell and Harrison Beeden, but both were wide of target. Luke James had Morpeth's first tangible effort as the half drew to a close, his 25-yard effort whistling wide.
Another loanee, this time Charlie Cox let fly from long range in first half injury time, but the effort was saved by Dan Langley.
The visitors from the North East came out the strongest in the second half and had their best chance of the game on 49 minutes. Midfielder Sam Hodgson played his attacking namesake Sam Hodgson in and his shot stung the hands of debutant Lewis Forshaw who managed to tip the ball over the bar.
Lancaster City's best chance of the game came on 53 minutes. Lewis Mansell drove forward but saw his first effort blocked, and was then played into the box for a second chance and his shot looked destined to open the scoring, but a fantastic save by Langley prevented a certain goal.
As both defences came to dominate the fixture, the last effort came from a corner, Dylan Thompson rising highest but can't get over the ball as his header is over the bar.
With both sides failing to break the defensive line, the game petered out to a goalless draw and a share of the spoils.
Next up for the Dolly Blues will be a trip to Nottinghamshire to take on Worksop Town.
