Morecambe recorded a deserved 2-0 victory over Cheltenham Town at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium thanks to second half goals from Ged Garner and Lee Angol.
In a goalless first period, David Tutonda whistled a drive narrowly over the angle, while at the other end, Arkell Jude-Boyd delivered a dangerous ball toward the back post which forced Rhys Williams to knee the ball back into the arms of Harry Burgoyne.
Moments later, Timothée Dieng's strike from the edge of the box was deflected wide for a corner which came to nothing, before Dieng again glanced a header wide of target.
Just before half time, Morecambe striker Andy Dallas did well to cross from the right, but Angol’s header landed on the roof of the net.
Morecambe came out of the blocks quickly in the second half and could have been ahead within 60 seconds of the restart, as Paul Lewis was denied by the legs of Joe Day, before Adam Lewis stung the palms of Day with a powerful strike from the edge of the box.
Callum Jones then struck a fierce free kick which Day was equal t, before the Shrimps' pressure was awarded on 66 minutes.
Substitute Garner latched onto Harry Burgoyne's long kick forward and slotted beyond Day into the corner with his first touch.
It was nearly two as an Adam Lewis free kick was flicked on to Jamie Stott at the back post, he headed it across goal to Williams but Day managed to collect the ball on his line.
The lead was doubled on 74 minutes. Garner threaded the ball through the Robins’ defence, and Angol ran clear to calmly slot the ball home for his fifth goal in his last six games.
Town came close to halving the deficit shortly after through Taylor's strike from the edge of the box, but Burgoyne was on hand to tip over.
