Morecambe remain second bottom of the League Two table after a disappointing afternoon in Gloucestershire.
The Shrimps went into the contest unbeaten in their last four games away from home, but mistakes at the back proved costly at Whaddon Road, as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat.
There was an early warning for the visitors, as Jordan Thomas cut inside and rifled saw his curling effort from just inside the box hit the top Harry Burgoyne's bar on its way over.
At the other end, on 18 minutes, a Harvey Macadam cross deflected off Luke Young and nearly snuck in at the near post, before the side netting came to Morecambe's rescue three minutes later, as a left wing cross toward the back post found Arkell Jude-Boyd.
The deadlock was broken on 33 minutes courtesy of a fantastic finish by right back Arkell Jude-Boyd.
Ibrahim Bakare played a long ball out to the right wing, and right on the touchline, the Robins’ man chipped the ball over Adam Lewis, raced into the area, and finished low into the bottom corner pat Burgoyne.
Hallam Hope tried to get the Shrimps back on terms as he was released by Macadam's terrific through ball, but after taking a touch, he could only drag the resulting shot wide from outside the box.
Just before the break, a strike from Adam Lewis was deflected just wide.
The Shrimps enjoyed a lively start to the second half. Ben Tollitt did well to twist and turn away from danger before laying the ball off to Macadam. He found Jones who struck wide.
20 minutes from time, the Shrimps should have been level, as a deep Tollitt corner was nodded down by Marcus Dackers, but Hope couldn’t direct his header on target.
That miss proved costly as a few minutes later Michael Flynn’s men sealed the points.
Morecambe didn’t clear a corner, and as the ball was lobbed back into the penalty area, there was hesitation between the goalkeeper and the defenders, which allowed George Miller to steal possession and slot home from close range, to leave Derek Adams’ men empty handed.
