The Shrimps had a couple of early chances. Firstly, Ben Tollitt put an effort not far wide, before Tollitt fed Adam Lewis whose fierce effort was tipped over by Billy Crellin.
At the other end, Shaun Whalley unleashed a low strike which went just past the post, and Donald Love also came close with a bending effort.
Stanley opened the scoring from the penalty spot.
Whalley went down in the box under challenge from Yann Songo’o, and Dara Costelloe stepped up and sent Moore the wrong way from 12 yards.
Whalley should have made it two soon after, but blasted an effort over the bar when well placed.
Tollitt had a good opportunity to level things up on 40 minutes, but saw his effort fly over the angle of post and bar.
The hosts then doubled their advantage in first half stoppage time.
Seamus Conneely headed the ball into the path of Kelsey Mooney, who flicked it through to Costelloe, who finished well past Moore to double the advantage.
Morecambe struggled to get a foothold in the game in the second half, with a couple of Songo’o headers well wide the best they could muster, before halving the arrears five minutes from time.
Charlie Brown won a free kick on the edge of the area, and up stepped Tollitt to curl the ball into the top corner, for what proved to be a spectacular consolation.
