A huge fire has broken out at the BAE Systems nuclear submarine site in Barrow-in-Furness.
Two people have been taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
Cumbria Police said there is no nuclear risk.
The incident was reported at around 0.44am on Wednesday morning and emergency services were at the scene.
People living nearby were initially advised to remain indoors and keep doors and windows closed.
In an update this morning, police said people were no longer being advised to remain indoors but should still keep windows and doors shut.
A Cumbria Police spokesperson said there are no other casualties and everyone else have been evacuated from the Devonshire Dock Hall and is accounted for.
A road closure is in place on Michaelson Bridge.
The hall is the second-largest indoor shipbuilding complex of its kind in Europe, according to BAE Systems.
Craft to have been built there include the four Vanguard Class submarines that make up the UK's Trident nuclear programme.
Four new nuclear submarines from the Dreadnought Class are currently being built at the site, due to replace the Vanguard submarines in the early 2030s.
Police have asked people in vehicles travelling near BAE to close their vehicle's windows, air vents and sunroof and turn off fans and air conditioning if you have them.
People are also asked to avoid the area whilst emergency services continue with their work.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue are likely to be on site for much of the day on Wednesday.
