The Festival Players return for a special evening of Shakespeare in the Garden at Leighton Hall later this month.
They’re back on Thursday 25th July, with a performance of Shakespeare's final play, The Tempest.
The Festival Players are no strangers to the stunning backdrop provided by Leighton Hall's picturesque gardens. For over 25 years, this renowned travelling theatre company has brought the magic of Shakespeare to Carnforth, every summer.
But this year marks a particularly special occasion – it’s the 10th anniversary of their groundbreaking tour which featured an all-male cast and all original music for the very first time.
Since that milestone performance, every July, Leighton’s audiences have enjoyed a diverse array of Shakespeare's comedies and tragedies, each evening filled with laughter, drama, and timeless storytelling.
This year's recital of The Tempest promises to be a triumphant blend of intrigue, magic, and humour.
Suzie Reynolds, owner of Leighton Hall, said: "We love having The Festival Players here. After all this time, it’s like welcoming back old friends. We’re thankful that they stop here at Leighton, as we are the only venue in Lancashire on their tour. The gardens are the perfect backdrop to enjoy Shakespeare on a summer's evening, regardless of our British weather.’’
The show will take place rain or shine, so visitors are encouraged to bring their own seating, extra layers of warm clothing and possibly an umbrella to ensure comfort throughout the evening.
