The Wizard of Oz announced as this year’s ‘Play in the Park’ in Lancaster

The Wizard of Oz has been announced as this year's walkabout theatre show in Lancaster's Williamson Park.

The Dukes will bring its award-winning outdoor summer show to the park from July 18 to August 24.

Audiences can join Dorothy, who is desperately searching for fluffy runaway Toto when a storm sweeps her away from her home in Lancaster into a world full of surprises and wonder.

With her new found companions: the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, Dorothy must navigate the curiosities and dangers of Oz, all while staying one step ahead of the Wicked Witch. Along the way, she’ll discover that courage, heart, and wisdom can be found in the most unexpected places.

Performances will run from Tuesdays to Sundays at 7.15pm.

Tickets must be booked in advance. They are available by calling the box office on 01524 598500 or email tickets@dukeslancaster.org  or buy online here
