Young people will be the driving force behind the return of a Green Festival this summer as it takes place for the first time on Morecambe Promenade.
Lancaster youth charity Escape2Make (E2M) will host the Green Festival on Saturday August 24 from 10am to 4pm and have 217 free spaces for young people aged 11-18 from Lancaster & Morecambe to sign up to, to help make it happen.
E2M held its first Green Festival at Scotch Quarry, Lancaster, in August 2022.
The festival was an open invitation to the local community to see what 11-18 year-olds had been doing over the summer in a variety of free workshops.
Alongside the young people's stalls were food vendors, live music, and theatre performances, drumming from Morecambe based More Music, yoga and gong baths.

This year's event has been designed by the Escape2Make youth board and activities include:
Monster Making, Graphic Design, Photography, Outdoor Animation, Pottery, Board Game Design, Music, T-Shirt Design, Wild Cooking, and Theatre. Additionally, they offer one-off workshops such as Pillow Fort Cinema, Kite Flying, Healthy Drink Making, Film in a Day, and VR Campfire.
E2M aims to help all 11-18s in the Lancaster and Morecambe area to escape from boredom, social media, loneliness and any pressure at school or home by providing workshops and short courses hosted by local businesses, national businesses, local artists and university students.
All the workshops and courses are designed to help young people make things, make friends and make a difference in the community.
